Yochim won the endorsement last week of the Chautauqua County Democratic Committee for the 150th District Assembly seat.

The 150th District is roughly analogous to Chautauqua County, which is on the extreme western edge of the state of New York.

The seat is currently held by Republican Andrew Goodell, who will be seeking a third term.

Yochim is the executive director of Meals on Wheels of the Jamestown Area.

While an Undergrad, Yochim served as alumni relations chairman, vice president and president.

Yochim’s presidency, which spanned the spring and fall semesters of 1989, was the period for which the Chapter won its first Hugh Shields Award for Chapter Excellence, in January of 1990.

Yochim also started the Big Brother genealogy project, which led to the creation of the Big Brother Board that was unveiled at the Chapter’s 25th anniversary in 1993.

Yochim also was part of the alumni intervention team that helped saved the Chapter in 2001.
